Charlotte Pride Band strives to provide an open, inviting environment for musicians of all ability levels. As a result, we are a diverse group with musicians of all backgrounds focused on one thing: providing the highest-quality performances possible. We invite you to join us for:
Concert Band - Charlotte Pride Band's concert band performs four concerts per year under the direction of Artistic Director John Stanley Ross. Musical selections range from pops music to orchestral transcriptions and are selected to provide excitement and challenge for musicians of all ability levels.
Marching & Pep Band - CPB's marching band performs in area parades, including the annual Charlotte Pride Parade and St. Patrick's Day Parade. Typically, marching band members commit to 2-3 practices and a parade performance, with a focus on providing a fun, high-quality marching band performance for community members. Our pep band performs at a number of community events every year, providing support to multiple local causes.
Jazz Band & Small Ensembles - CPB's jazz band, The Banktown Beat, is currently on hiatus. A number of small ensembles are created throughout the year to fulfill performance requests.
Auditions are not required to join Charlotte Pride Band. Any wind player with reasonable playing abilities is invited to join us.
Concert band practices are held Thursday nights between August and May from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at John Crosland School. Members must be able to commit to attending 80% of schedule practices to participate with the concert band.
Marching band and small ensemble practices are scheduled as needed to ensure quality performances.
